Trending: what dealers are asking in 2026
What is dead lead reactivation for car dealerships?
Dead lead reactivation means re-contacting leads in your CRM that stopped replying and are no longer being worked, then turning the ones still in the market into appointments. Because the dealership already paid for those leads, every reactivated sale comes with no new lead cost. Amos does this automatically and hands ready-to-buy customers to your sales team.
What is an AI BDC, and do dealerships still need people in the BDC?
An AI BDC uses AI agents to handle repetitive business development work such as follow-up, re-engagement and appointment setting. It works best alongside people, not instead of them: the AI covers volume and the leads nobody has time for, and your BDC and sales team take the conversations that are ready to book.
Will AI replace car salespeople?
No. AI agents are good at persistent, personal follow-up across hundreds of leads at once. Selling the car, negotiating, appraising a trade and delivering it are still done by your people. Amos and Tania exist to put more ready buyers in front of them.
How is an AI agent different from a CRM drip campaign?
A drip campaign sends the same pre-written sequence to everyone on a list. An AI agent like Amos researches each lead first (what they looked at, when their lease or finance ends, whether they might buy for a fleet), writes a message for that person, replies to their answers in real time and books or hands over the ones who are ready.
Can AI book test drives and appointments automatically?
Yes. When a customer replies that they are ready, Amos can offer times and book the appointment, or pass the conversation to a rep straight away. Either way the full conversation, trade-in details and finance status are logged in your CRM so the salesperson starts with context.
How do I stop wasting money on dealership ads and lead sources?
Judge every lead source and campaign on cost per appointment and cost per sale, not on reach, clicks or likes. Tania tracks which posts and campaigns lead to enquiries and booked test drives, and the free audit shows which of your current lead sources you are overpaying for.
What your GM will ask
Is texting old leads legal?
Only with consent, and Amos is built around that. Before anything goes out, we sort your leads by consent status under CASL in Canada and TCPA in the US. Leads without valid consent get email only, or are left alone. Opt-outs are honoured straight away, quiet hours are respected, and every message is logged.
Does it replace my BDC?
No. Amos takes on the follow-up your BDC never gets to: leads that are months old, lease-end lists and fleet prospects. Your people get the conversations that are ready to book, with context already attached.
Which CRMs does it work with?
[CONFIRM YOUR SUPPORTED CRMs]. If yours has a lead export or an API, we can start with a CSV for the audit and pilot, then connect it directly once results justify it.
Will customers know it’s AI?
Messages come from your dealership and read like a helpful salesperson, not a blast. If a customer asks whether they are talking to a person, Amos says honestly that it is an assistant and hands over to your team.
What does it cost?
The audit is free. The pilot is a fixed fee of [PILOT PRICE] on a set batch of aged leads, so you can measure it before committing. Ongoing pricing is [MONTHLY PRICE] and depends on lead volume and rooftops.
How fast do we see anything?
The audit takes 48 hours. Re-engagement starts in the first week of the pilot, and we review appointments set and shown with you at day 30.
Amos: dead-lead reactivation
How old can a lead be and still be worth working?
The audit looks at leads aged 30 to 365 days, because that is where most still-in-market buyers sit. Older leads can still be worth contacting, but consent is the limit: in Canada, implied consent under CASL from an enquiry generally lasts six months and from a purchase or lease two years, so Amos checks each lead before choosing a channel.
What kinds of leads does Amos work?
Dead and aged internet leads, third-party and Facebook lead-ad leads, past enquiries, lease-end and finance-maturity lists, and service customers with trade-in equity. For business owners, Amos also flags possible fleet buyers.
Which channels does Amos use?
Email, SMS and WhatsApp where the customer’s consent allows, and LinkedIn for business and fleet buyers. Each lead is contacted on the channel they are most likely to answer, at a sensible time, with quiet hours respected.
What happens when a customer replies?
Amos keeps the conversation going, answers questions, and qualifies the buyer. When someone is ready, Amos books the appointment or hands the conversation to a rep, with the last enquiry, trade-in and finance status attached, and logs everything in your CRM.
Can Amos do equity mining and lease-end follow-up?
Yes. Amos pulls lease-ends and service customers with likely trade-in equity out of your CRM and contacts them before their term ends, with options that keep their payment close to what they pay today.
How do you measure whether Amos worked?
In the pilot, Amos works an agreed batch of aged leads and results are measured against a control group: appointments set, appointments shown and units sold from reactivated leads. You see the numbers at day 30.
Tania: social & ad spend
What does an AI social media agent do for a car dealership?
Tania turns your live inventory into posts for local buyers every week: new arrivals, price drops and trade-in offers, published on a schedule. She then tracks which posts lead to enquiries and test drives so the budget follows what actually books appointments.
How does Tania decide which ads to cut?
Every boosted post, campaign and lead source is compared on enquiries, appointments and sales rather than reach or likes. Anything with high reach and no enquiries gets flagged as wasted spend, and the winners get scaled.
Does Tania replace our marketing agency?
She can run alongside an agency or take over local social posting entirely. Either way you get one monthly report showing cost per sale by source, so you can judge every channel, including your agency’s, on cars sold.
Which social platforms does Tania post to?
[CONFIRM SUPPORTED PLATFORMS]. Tania works with the formats local car buyers actually scroll: short reels, carousels and stories built from your current stock.
How do you connect a social post to a sold car?
Each enquiry is tagged with the post or campaign it came from and followed through to appointment and sale. Anyone who engages but doesn’t book is passed to Amos for follow-up, so the people you paid to reach don’t drop out.
The dead-lead calculator
How do I calculate the value of dead leads in my CRM?
Multiply leads per month by the number of months of history, then by the share that went quiet without buying. That gives your quiet leads. Multiply quiet leads by your average cost per lead to see the lead spend sitting unworked. Multiply quiet leads by the share you expect to buy, then by gross per unit, to see the potential gross profit.
What reactivation rate should I assume?
Start low. Rates depend on lead age, source quality, consent status and inventory, so we don’t quote a number. The calculator lets you test your own assumption, and the pilot measures your real rate against a control group.
What is a typical cost per lead for a car dealership?
It varies widely by source. Website forms, third-party leads, Facebook lead ads and pre-approved finance leads can differ by several times. Use your own blended figure across all sources; the free audit breaks it out by source from your data.
What counts as front and back gross?
Front gross is the profit on the vehicle itself. Back gross is the profit from finance and insurance products such as financing reserve, warranties and protection packages. The calculator uses the total of both per retail unit.
Is the calculator result a forecast?
No. It is an illustrative scenario from your inputs, not a forecast or a guarantee. Actual results depend on lead quality, consent status, inventory and how fast your team picks up handed-over leads.
